Monsters

 The reason I started fasting wasn't for my weight. It was for my brain.  Robert Burns, my close friend, told me that serotonin started high production in the intestinal track after not eating for 12 hours.

So in June 2022, I started 18 hour daily fasts. The next thing,a year later, I started seeing monsters with my left eye. It's from capillaries that form under your retina. Then they leak fluid and that creates cysts under the retina and then everything looks twisted, which makes people look like monsters. 

That's when I found out I had wet macular degeneration in my left eye. I started taking anti Veg shots in my left eye and that helped for a while. But it kept getting worse.

Honestly, I don't remember what was first, the 18 hour fasts or the twisted faces, the monsters.

Being who I am, I went on a campaign of finding a solution. Doctors will tell you that's its inevitable,  you will go blind from WMD.

I Found a clinical trial in Finland where 2/3 of the group improved. What they did was take up a campaign of fasting.

Being as I was already fasting 18 hours a day, it was pretty obvious that wasn't helping much. Oh oh.

Then I started extending my fasts. When I got to 2 and 3 day fasts, it started helping the cysts caused by these capillaries to get smaller.

I, now know, the reason why extended fasts work. It's not until you have removed all the glucose from your organs and removed the food from your digestive track that your lisosomes come alive with enough force to start removing broken organelles and zombie cells. And the deepest form of  a fast, that is, a 4 day fast, does  start removing cysts. It's called Autophagy. 

And it worked.  Every 4 day fast, literally removed my retinal cysts. Just a smidgen left each time I did a 4 day. So yeah,  it's about 4 day fasts. 

So I woke up this morning with a cysts in my left eye. I haven't done a 4 day for over a month. Oops. My creature, fights me on it because a 4 day fast is not easy. But here goes. I've eaten breakfast and I'm starting a 4 day fast. If my creature fights me on this, I have proof that I will go blind if I don't fast on a 4 day.

It's almost 11 am and I'm diving in. Fingers crossed that a 4 day will remove my left eye's cysts.

Statistics of fasts

I have the graphs working on the extended fasts. All is pretty much good and well to a point. I want to superimpose the condition(s) above the fast times. Bear in mind that what appears complex in this note, the complexity of the program, itself, is at least 30 times more complex. To compare the fasting times to the condition times, for instance, I want to see when I'm losing weight compared to the fasts. Weight is the example here. What is done here will work with the thousands of conditions the members may have. That's a bit complex. The condition check may lie outside of the start and end of the fast.  I can't ignore what is outside the fast, especially if no condition tests were done within the fasts themselves. I have to use the last or average of the weights before the fast. Also, if there is weight checks within the fasts, then I'll use an average of those. Huge update

 I've been reading several books since last month. The Ketogenic Bible,  Dr Fung's book, David Sinclair's book and more. I absorb these ideas on metabolic systems in the body.  The most interesting is understanding the rebuild/repair system of the body. The main idea I've come to understand is that the human system needs to spend more time on the repair side of metabolism. The thing is, we eat without allowing the body to repair.   The repair of Autophagy in all its types really can't function properly with just a few hours of rest from eating. We are built to repair our cells when we don't eat for a few days. To measure the amount of repair taking place I use the GKI index. For that to work I use the blood tests for Ketones and Glucose using inexpensive blood monitors. Condition Graphs

 The entering and saving of the condition system is working. I am now working on the conditions graph that shows up above the fast graph as a line graph. It's a bit complex. Something like, first cut the conditions that exist before and after the selected dates of the fast graphs, then average the numbers between each fast and create the line point at that height. That gives me the ability to see how my progress corelates to the fasts. So, like, if I'm losing weight, I can see how that particular graph affected my weight or blood pressure or inflammation of my joints etc. After that's done, I'll be working on getting the system, as a whole, to accept multiple people. After that, I'll make the system more efficient. Like being able to login in from the front screen and then jump to the main app screen with some message saying I'm logged in.
