Stem Cells and Getting Young Again
Man oh man. Did i get this wrong. I thought that stem cells will leave your bone marrow, after 3 days of water fasting, and flood the system with stem cells that will repair cells throughout your body. In the blood stream, yeah, but not the other organs.
Big Wrong. Stem cells live locally where they are going to replace cells that will die. The problem is this, stem cells age and they develop damage. I had read that Dolly, the cloned sheep, did not have the diseases of her mother, who had been cloned from. Well,,,, she did. She basically had the age of her mother and died younger. That is, around the age the mother would have died.
The good news is that when you fast, you also kill any cells, including stem cells that have enough damage to be considered ready to die. So you have a better pool of stem cells to replace the dead cells. So that's better, but it doesn't mean you're going to be young again when you do extended fasts. But you won't be cloning bad stem cells that have as much damage.
Now there's a lot of work on bringing back cells back to where the same way they were when you we're born. So there's that. It's a long road. I'm sure there will be techniques to remove even partially damaged stem cells. Time will tell.
I was hoping that there was a chance of returning to my youth, at least, a little bit. But you do remove badly damaged zombie cells and that certainly reduces any diseases. But youth, well that might be a little far fetched.
